OBRC is seeking candidates for a Facilitator/Coordinator for the Company's mascot "Bottle Bill" visiting schools and making community appearances throughout Oregon, promoting Bottle Bill recycling.  We're looking for someone with an enthusiastic attitude and upbeat outward appearance with the ability to interact with students, education staff and the public.  They need to be motivated with a desire to gain experience in enhancing Bottle Bill education.  Candidates need to be able to work event dates throughout Oregon on a flexible schedule with some overnight stays and some weekends.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and upbeat personality.
  • Able to fit into the "Bottle Bill" mascot.
  • The ability to sustain physical activity such as walking, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
  • Experience operating standard office equipment including copier, fax, phone and computer.
  • Willing to complete Red Cross First Aid Training and CPR certification.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Computer literacy using MS Word, Excel, email and internet.
Pay range is $ 13 to $ 15 per hour.
 
Full time on a flexible schedule with some overnights and weekends.

BACK ROOM/WAREHOUSE MATERIAL HANDLER IRedemption Center Operations

An RC Back Room/Warehouse Material Handler I operates a variety of equipment designed to sort, count, compact or move empty beverage containers for the purpose of recycling. Processes and records container counts accurately while meeting established productivity standards. Identifies, troubleshoots and reports maintenance items.  Maintains a clean and well organized work area including loading area.  An RC Back Room/Warehouse Material Handler I must possess the ability to effectively communicate both to internal departments and customers.

 

Essential Job Tasks

 

• Safely operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment and redemption center tools.

• Lift bags from rack into sorting or compactor equipment.

Load, unload, push and otherwise maneuver full and empty bag racks in back area. 

• Maneuvering up and around machinery safely as needed to maintain operation. 

• Cleaning and maintenance as needed to equipment to maintain operation (as trained or instructed).

• Recognize proper operation of assigned equipment to include safety shutoffs and devices. 

• Operate a manual and electric pallet jack and/or pallet stacker.

• Safely load/unload trailer with totes and pallets and other items as needed 

• Stand and/or walk for an extended time period on concrete floor. 

• Maintain the appearance of the facility and its surrounding area, including the parking lot, to company requirements, through regular inspection and cleaning.  This includes regular sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters/machines, dusting, windows/doors, properly storing supplies and cleaning the breakroom and restrooms.

• Efficiently and accurately complete all data entry requirements and the processing of beverage containers to include receiving and processing of EZ Drop bags.

• Assist BottleDrop customers by introducing them to the features of BottleDrop Redemption Center, including the EZ Drop system – made up of using the kiosk, getting payment slips, bags/tags, hand counts, Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) and daily limits.

• Professionally represent OBRC/BottleDrop when interacting with customers, co-workers, Non-Profit/Fundraiser groups.

 

Qualifications
 
•  Upbeat and energetic individual with positive attitude and good attendance history
•  Ability to operate the backroom equipment and material handling responsibilities
•  Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs. and stand for several hours a day
•  Must be available to work a flexible schedule including:  days, nights and weekends on a regular basis.
•  Possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task
•  Strong verbal communication skills and computer literacy
•  General knowledge of the Oregon Bottle Bill
•  Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
•  Must not pose a direct safety threat to himself/herself or others.
Pay: $10/hour
Part-time hours available 15-25 hours a week

A RC Customer Service Associate I is responsible for delivering superior customer service to customers of BottleDrop in a friendly, professional and considerate manner while maintaining the appearance of the Redemption Center and surrounding area to company standards.  And safely operating, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment and redemption center tools.

 

 Essential Job Tasks

Qualifications
 
• Positive, upbeat and energetic individual with customer service and cash handling experience (minimum of 2 years experience)
• General knowledge of the Oregon Bottle Bill
• Strong verbal communication skills and computer literacy
• Ability to learn the required maintenance and troubleshooting for the IT, POS and Redemption Center equipment
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35+ lbs. and stand for several hours a day
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights and weekends on a regular basis.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
 
A pre-employment drug screen is required.
Pay: $10/hour
Part-time hours available 15-25 hours a week
