SERVICE MANAGER - PORTLANDReverse Vending
General Job Description
Responsible for managing technician staff in installation, service and maintenance of reverse vending equipment at retail grocers and redemption centers throughout Oregon. Supervise, schedule, direct and train technicians in carrying out these activities. Responsible for ensuring departmental productivity and performance objectives are met. Essential Job Tasks • Interview, select and train qualified applicants for job openings. • Supervise, schedule, direct and train technicians in carrying out all activities. • Effectively evaluate and discipline verbally and in writing, direct reports. • Recognize and ensure compliance of all departmental quality control policies and procedures. • Coordinate with Route Operations department Administrative Assistant for dispatching of technicians. • Coordinate with RV department Administrative Assistant for machine parts inventory, ordering, shipping and receiving. • Assist account representatives in providing service to retailers and Redemption Centers. • Ensure that all company and departmental safety rules and procedures are complied with by direct reports and self. • Have the ability to perform all duties of jobs of direct reports. • Communicate effectively within the department, between departments, and between management and employees. • Recognize and ensure accurate and timely completion of all departmental paperwork. • Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings with direct reports. • Attend management skill classes as scheduled. • Track, report and manage RVM, subordinate and asset performance. • Develop and coordinate ongoing training that increase machine performance, usability, dependability, reporting accuracy and safety. • Responsible for ensuring departmental productivity and performance objectives are met. • Inventory, asset and labor cost management.
Qualifications
• Must be available to work 40+ hours a week Monday-Friday. • Pass drug screen prior to employment in this position. • Pass company's basic math skill test. • Proven supervisory experience and skills. • Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record. • Speak, understand, read, and write the English Language. • Meet physical requirements of the job as defined below. • Must not pose a direct safety threat to himself/herself or others. • Must have working knowledge MS Outlook, Excel and Word. • Ability to demonstrate a professional attitude and image in a business setting.

General Job Description

 

Operate a tractor-trailer on a specific route to service OBRC accounts in handling the pick-up and transporting of deposit/refund beverage containers.

 

Essential Job Tasks

 

• Maintain personal appearance consistent with OBRC Management expectations.

• Arrive on time for every scheduled workday.

• Conduct yourself in a professional manner in both attitude and appearance.

• Perform pre-trip inspections on tractor and trailer.

• Safely and courteously operate a vehicle and all equipment, including pallet jacks, hand carts, lift gates, dock plates, load locks, etc.

• Know product information - items we collect, proper sorting of product, which products are handled by which distributor.

• Proper product preparation including marking of bags, building of pallets and product groupings.

• Proper preparation of drafts, accurate counts, accurate and legible math.

• Proper loading of trucks, insuring that all items paid for are loaded, load is properly secured and that bags are "layered" in the truck.

• Completion of weekly tasks in allotted amount of time.

• Understanding company operations. Know what happens to product when it reaches the plant, can explain adjustment process to retailers and knows the company organization to find sources for answers.

Skill Requirements
 
• Valid Class A CDL and good driving record.
• Pre-employment DOT drug screen required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day.
• General knowledge of air brakes, fifth wheels.

Perform a variety of administrative tasks to support Manager of Property Acquisition and Development. This position will be communicating orally and in writing with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside vendors with a focus on excellent interpersonal skills. Property Acquisition and Development Assistant will be preforming a variety of Internet research functions and will be using word processing, spreadsheets and Google earth regularly. ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS • Enhance Property Acquisition & Development Manager’s effectiveness by providing information and assistance. • Conduct specific property research: including retailer analysis, zoning, and other feasibility analysis. • Communicate with retailers and follow up with required BottleDrop Redemption Center participation documents. • Create and maintain filing systems for OLCC applications and amendments. • Meet with retailers to discuss BottleDrop opening dates, requirements, and posting of signage in retailer bottle rooms. • Manage annual retailer reporting and produce reports required by the OLCC. • Create and update a variety of documents using spreadsheet, word processing, and other computer software applications. • Monitor and manage tracking of new or outstanding potential retailer participants. • Maintain confidentiality of retailer and BottleDrop data. • Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing information. • Schedule and coordinate meetings, events, and other similar activities

Unload bags, pallets and totes of product from trailer within established time goals. Count and organize bagged product by coded groups as directed. Operate electric pallet jack inside trailer and in dock area. Identify and secure loose glass or bags to avoid spillage in trailers. Identify and report equipment maintenance needs to Dock Team Leader.

 

Essential Job Tasks

* Pull down from 7 ft. and lift up to heights of 7 ft., 20 lb. bags of aluminum cans and 15 lb. bags of PET plastic bottles. * Read codes on bags, count and organize by code groups as posted on bag racks. * Push and otherwise maneuver racks of bags in and out of trailers. * Re-stack to heights of 5 ft., 30 lb. cases of glass and secure with shrink wrap as necessary. * Operate electric pallet jack to move pallets and totes of product from trailers to the dock.

Qualifications

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Primary responsibility is for Purchase Ordering for the accounting department. ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS • Coordinate and manage purchase order process with the Purchasing/Shipping Coordinator and external suppliers. Works on purchasing assignments involving preparing orders, analyzing quotations, expediting deliveries and purchasing items where open bid contracts have been established. • Work with Purchasing/Shipping Coordinator on cost analysis and areas for cost improvement. • Manage process of paperwork flow from the initial shipment through receipt of information by accounting department. • Accounting related filing.

An RC Back Room/Warehouse Material Handler I operates a variety of equipment designed to sort, count, compact or move empty beverage containers for the purpose of recycling. Processes and records container counts accurately while meeting established productivity standards. Identifies, troubleshoots and reports maintenance items.  Maintains a clean and well organized work area including loading area.  An RC Back Room/Warehouse Material Handler I must possess the ability to effectively communicate both to internal departments and customers.

 

Essential Job Tasks

 

• Safely operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment and redemption center tools.

• Lift bags from rack into sorting or compactor equipment.

Load, unload, push and otherwise maneuver full and empty bag racks in back area. 

• Maneuvering up and around machinery safely as needed to maintain operation. 

• Cleaning and maintenance as needed to equipment to maintain operation (as trained or instructed).

• Recognize proper operation of assigned equipment to include safety shutoffs and devices. 

• Operate a manual and electric pallet jack and/or pallet stacker.

• Safely load/unload trailer with totes and pallets and other items as needed 

• Stand and/or walk for an extended time period on concrete floor. 

• Maintain the appearance of the facility and its surrounding area, including the parking lot, to company requirements, through regular inspection and cleaning.  This includes regular sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters/machines, dusting, windows/doors, properly storing supplies and cleaning the breakroom and restrooms.

• Efficiently and accurately complete all data entry requirements and the processing of beverage containers to include receiving and processing of EZ Drop bags.

• Assist BottleDrop customers by introducing them to the features of BottleDrop Redemption Center, including the EZ Drop system – made up of using the kiosk, getting payment slips, bags/tags, hand counts, Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) and daily limits.

• Professionally represent OBRC/BottleDrop when interacting with customers, co-workers, Non-Profit/Fundraiser groups.

 

Qualifications
 
•  Upbeat and energetic individual with positive attitude and good attendance history
•  Ability to operate the backroom equipment and material handling responsibilities
•  Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs. and stand for several hours a day
•  Must be available to work a flexible schedule including:  days, nights and weekends on a regular basis.

Qualifications
 
• Positive, upbeat and energetic individual with customer service and cash handling experience (minimum of 2 years experience)
• General knowledge of the Oregon Bottle Bill
• Strong verbal communication skills and computer literacy
• Ability to learn the required maintenance and troubleshooting for the IT, POS and Redemption Center equipment
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35+ lbs. and stand for several hours a day
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights and weekends on a regular basis.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Pay: $10/hour
Part-time hours available 15-25 hours a week
